Blessing Always Guruji

This page is created with love and respect for Guruji as an act of Selfless Sewa.

Guruji Nourishment of the Soul

"Kalyan kitta," Guruji would proclaim, and in return, the devotee would receive the heartfelt blessing of "Blessings always."

“Ja Aish Kar” translates to “Enjoy.”

Guruji’s Fragrance

“Eh khusboo meri body di natural khushboo hai. Carora, arban mahapurushan vicho kisi ek wich eh khushboo hundi hai. Shiv ji wich eh khushboo hai.”
“This fragrance emanates from my being; it is a natural essence. Among billions of great souls, only a rare few possess this scent. Lord Shiva embodies this fragrance.”

“Asli Guru rasik – vairagi hona sikhande hain. Pura rasik hona, narkaan wich paa denda hai te pura vairaagi vi grihasth chada denda hai.”
“A true guru teaches the art of being both a connoisseur of life and a renunciant. To be solely focused on enjoyment leads one towards the abyss, while abandoning worldly responsibilities in pursuit of the divine results in failure. Grihast (householder) life is essential; one must remember God while fulfilling familial duties. When a husband serves his wife and a wife serves her husband, there is no greater joy—this is heaven.”

“Guru lakh di bhi te kakh di bhi blessings kar sakda hai. Guru blessings de kar waapas bhi le sakda hai.”
“A Guru has the power to bestow blessings worth millions, yet if one lacks the wisdom to receive them, they may end up with blessings of little value. Moreover, if a Guru perceives that his blessings are fostering arrogance or being misused, he has the authority to retract them.”

Guruji Miracles of Faith

“A Guru stands above even God.”
“Guru number one te hai, Guru di sangat dooje number te hai te rab teeje number te hai.”
“A true Guru occupies the highest position, followed by the disciple, and then God. Rab (God) writes your destiny and sends you to earth; a Guru has the capacity to alter that destiny at will. In the presence of a Guru, even God’s influence is diminished.”

“Puran Guru nu kade bhi publicity nai chahidi hundi. Oh kade bhi bodyguard aur gunmen nai rakhu ga. Je guru wich power hai ta oh apne aap nu protect bhi kar sakda hai. Je oh apne aap nu nai protect kar sakda, ta apni sangat nu kiwein protect karuga?”
“A true Guru does not seek publicity. He requires no bodyguards or armed protection. If a guru possesses true power, he can safeguard himself. If he cannot protect himself, how can he protect his disciples. His presence radiates a fragrance earned through decades of meditation, his forehead gleams with divine light. Animals, including dogs and peacocks, instinctively recognize a true Guru and respond accordingly.”

Guruji’s Devotee

A Guru cherishes a disciple who embodies humility and is free from ego. Ego is an affliction that a guru cannot tolerate and will continuously challenge until it is relinquished.
“Kis gal da ahankaar? Neeme ho jaao.”
“Why harbor this ego? Embrace humility. Remember, trees that bear the most fruit often bow low. Just as water naturally flows to lower ground, blessings gravitate towards those who are humble. Do not engage with the ignorant.”

“Guru to ek mangna hunda hai te ek man na hunda hai.”
“There exists a distinction between asking a guru for something and believing in a guru. Mangeya na karo. Never ask. When you repeatedly request, I feel compelled to give. You may request something unsuitable or trivial, while I might wish to offer you something far greater. Accept your circumstances as your guru has arranged them.”

Faith

“I hold dear those devotees who have been embraced and cherished by my sangat. Those who believe they can approach me without the acceptance of my community are mistaken.”

“Jis tarah tusi mitti da bartan khareedan to pehlan, usnu thok baja kar dekhde ho, ki oh kite kaccha ta nai, us hi tarhaan main bhi thok baja ke, poori tasalli kar ke hi bhagat banaunda haan.”
“Just as one tests an earthen pot by tapping it to ensure its integrity, I too meticulously evaluate my community before selecting a disciple.”

Guruji is the Divine Love of Blessings and Enlightenment

Guruji is the “Divine Love” that graced the earth to bless and enlighten humanity. He was born in his mortal form as Nirmal Singh Maharaj on July 7, 1954, in Dugri village, located in the Malerkotla region of Sangrur District, Punjab, India.

Born into a humble family, Guruji's lineage had always been blessed with the presence of saints and mystics throughout generations. However, according to Mataji (Guruji’s mother), she had no inkling that a mahapurush of such elevated stature would come into her life. The midwife present at his birth reported witnessing a snake and a radiant light illuminating the room. When the pandit (priest) prepared the birth chart, he explicitly informed Mataji that this child was not solely hers but belonged to the entire world.

From infancy, there was a unique fragrance in his urine, and remarkably, he never soiled his clothes. As a young boy, he could often be found sitting in Samadhi (deep meditation) in the fields, completely unfazed by the scorching sun or torrential rains. His classmates would frequently tease him, as he never seemed to partake in the activities they enjoyed.

As time passed, his parents realized their son was no ordinary child but a divine being. Even his mother began to touch his feet and refer to him as Guruji, a name that soon became synonymous with reverence.

Guruji's Education and Early Friendships

Guruji attended Dugri Primary School and later enrolled at Government High School. He pursued his college education at Government College in Malerkotla, ultimately earning a double M.A. in English and Economics. Fluent in English and possessing exquisite handwriting, he often playfully asked his peers to spell certain words, maintaining a humble demeanor.

His academic pursuits were primarily to satisfy his father's aspirations for him to obtain an M.A. degree. Guruji eventually achieved this goal, and his father fondly recalls how his son would assist him in the fields, resulting in crop yields that far surpassed those of their neighbors.

One of the earliest indications of Guruji's spiritual inclinations was his frequent visits to the Dera of Sant Sewa Dasji in Dugri. Santji was a highly revered saint who had renounced worldly life and attracted a large following. Guruji often chose to spend time with the sages, much to his family’s disapproval, who wished he would focus on his studies instead.

At times, he would be confined to a room, but it was not long before he would be found sitting among the sages at the Dera. The elders would often advise others to leave the young Guruji undisturbed, recognizing him as the "lord of all the three loks."

His schoolmates fondly remember his extraordinary ability to fill empty inkpots merely by touching them. Once, during an examination, a classmate requested ink for his pen, and Guruji effortlessly filled it with a mere touch.

I personally witnessed this remarkable ability one day in Jallandhar. Guruji had a diary where he noted the addresses of visitors. I happened to be sitting next to him, and each time he wanted to write an address, he would ask me to pass the diary. On that occasion, the pen in the diary was not functioning. Having borrowed pens from the sangat throughout the day, I was surprised when Guruji looked at me, blew into the pen, and began writing. I leaned in, curious to see if it was indeed working, and to my astonishment, it was! He smiled at me and continued his writing.

Guruji took great care to conceal his supernatural abilities, striving to appear like an ordinary person. Yet, he often left his teachers bewildered by his sudden disappearances from his seat, only to reappear moments later. His classmates recall how he seemed to know all the answers to the exam questions in advance!

In one memorable incident, a classmate rode his scooter to pick up Guruji for college. Upon arriving at Guruji’s house, he was informed that Guruji had some work and would meet him at college. Although Guruji did not own a scooter, he was found waiting for his friend at the college. To test this, his friend returned to Guruji's house, only to find him there as well! Such occurrences of Guruji being in multiple places at once were not unusual.

In another amusing episode, his friends attempted to teach him how to swim. Disliking getting wet, he often resisted their efforts. One day, they conspired to throw him into the village well. As he was pushed in, his friends were astonished to see him floating above the water instead of sinking. Before they could comprehend the situation, he was suddenly beside them, completely dry. No one has ever understood how he managed to emerge without touching the water.

Guruji had a strong aversion to getting dirty or soiling his clothes, and he was not enthusiastic about performing typical agricultural chores. One day, when his father insisted he help in the rice fields, just as his father was about to push him into the work, two men arrived on a scooter, claiming that Guruji was needed elsewhere, and took him away.

Mataji would frequently send Guruji to the village grinding mill to have wheat or maize ground. After completing this task, he would generously distribute the flour among the poor and needy.

On one occasion, Guruji brought home a truckload of people late at night. Much to his mother’s annoyance, he asked her to prepare food for everyone. After feeding them, he distributed woven mats made by his mother and asked them to rest until he released them in the early morning. When questioned about his actions, he explained that had he not intervened, they might have faced an accident.

Fearless, he would often meditate in the graveyard at night for hours, much to his family's dismay, and he frequently sought the company of sages.

The Path to Spiritual Awakening of Guruji

In 1975, Guruji left his village and home, as reported by his classmates. After college, he briefly worked for the Punjab School Education Board in its field office at Sangrur as a clerical assistant in 1983. Guruji shared that by the age of eight, he had mastered control over his desires, dedicating his time to meditation.

Eventually, he embarked on a spiritual journey, often appearing at the homes of acquaintances, staying for a few days before moving on to wherever he felt drawn, sometimes disappearing for extended periods.

Regardless of where he stayed, people flocked to him seeking relief from ailments and various troubles. Soon, news of his miraculous powers spread throughout Punjab, and seekers pursued him relentlessly.

Initially, Guruji’s father disapproved of his lifestyle, believing him to be merely pretending to be a godman. This perception changed dramatically one day in Jalandhar temple when he awoke to a strange sound and witnessed Guruji entering a room with a lion behind him. Alarmed, he alerted the caretakers, who informed him that the room was locked and Guruji was meditating inside. From that moment on, Guruji’s father recognized that his son was no ordinary human being but someone truly special.

The Divine Love Presence

Guruji was an incarnation of Lord Shiva, revealing his divine form to many devotees. He emitted a fragrance akin to heavenly roses, a scent that continues to signify his spiritual presence long after his physical departure.

Throughout his brief earthly journey, Guruji touched the lives of millions, including those who never had the chance to meet him. He possessed the remarkable ability to perceive the essence of a devotee, understanding their past, present, and future at a glance. He would then extend blessings tailored to their unique needs.

Guruji healed thousands of ailments, helping individuals overcome their struggles and bringing peace and happiness to all who approached him. He even blessed those who had never seen him; their friends and relatives would come seeking his help to alleviate their problems.

During Sangat—the daily congregations—melodious Gurbaani and Shabad filled the hall where devotees sat in meditation before him. He blessed them not through physical touch but by altering the course of their lives with his spiritual powers. Often, he would grant healing or bestow blessings for things they hadn’t even thought to request.

At times, he would invite a devotee to stand and share their divine experiences with the congregation, fostering faith among those who might have doubts. These gatherings, known as satsangs, concluded with generous servings of langar, infused with his divine blessings. Numerous accounts exist of devotees experiencing healing simply by partaking in the langar or tea served during these events.

Even now, long after Guruji's physical presence has faded, devotees visit Bada Mandir to receive his boundless blessings. He assured that anyone entering his temples would receive some measure of grace, a phenomenon that persists today. The atmosphere is alive with miraculous occurrences, especially for those who have never met him. Those fortunate enough to have experienced his presence are truly blessed.

The Healing Touch of Guruji

He heals with a mere glance, showering blessings through eyes filled with profound love for those in distress. Countless devotees can attest to Guruji's saving grace, guiding them away from turmoil in their times of need. Hundreds of thousands, troubled by illness or despair, have found not only divine healing but also a path out of suffering, navigating the strains of modern life.

Those who approached him in their gravest moments found solace without even asking. Stories of Guruji's miraculous cures abound, with satsangs filled with captivating tales of ailments vanishing, troublesome bosses being kept at bay, promotions finally achieved, and even weather bending to Guruji's will. Through these gatherings, he allowed devotees to share their experiences, enabling others to benefit from his divine presence.

While many spiritual leaders guide individuals toward salvation, Guruji took a practical approach, leaving no room for doubt. He bore the burdens of his devotees, transforming their problems into his own and alleviating them with grace. Like a loving father, he watched over his followers, bringing joy not only to their lives but also to those they hold dear. For those under his protection, miracles became commonplace, with every devotee able to claim life-altering experiences that could only be described as miraculous. Nothing under Guruji's watchful eye is left to chance; everything unfolds according to his divine will. His hukm (order) guides devotees toward the brightest destinies, often beyond their wildest imaginations.

To behold Guruji is to be eternally blessed. Seeking refuge in him is akin to touching the essence of immortality, granting the strength to overcome worries and ailments. Following his guidance feels like residing in a fortress, shielded from adversity and untouched by hardship. To walk alongside him is to tap into the very wellspring of life, love, and sanity; it is to embrace the humble path of service and devotion.

Guruji's Legacy

Guruji resided intermittently in Jallandhar, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Delhi, and Mumbai, ultimately establishing a home known as his temple in Defence Colony, Jallandhar. He traveled between Delhi and Jallandhar until 2002, when he settled in the Empire Estate house on MG Road in New Delhi, now referred to as Chotta Mandir.

During the 1990s, he constructed the Shiv Mandir in the Bhatti Mines area of Chattarpur, affectionately called Bada Mandir by his devotees, which now houses his samadhi. The outpouring of Guruji's blessings began to alleviate the suffering of countless individuals, leading to the inception of satsangs. People from across India and beyond gathered to seek his blessings. The tea and langar prasad (blessed food) served during these gatherings were imbued with his divine grace. Devotees experienced his blessings in myriad forms: incurable ailments were healed, and a spectrum of issues—from legal troubles to emotional distress—was resolved. Many in the sangat were blessed with divine visions of deities. For Guruji, nothing was impossible; he had the power to write and rewrite destiny.

Guruji welcomed all, regardless of social status or religious affiliation. From ordinary individuals to influential politicians, business leaders, bureaucrats, and professionals, everyone sought his blessings. Those who sat near him and those who prayed from afar received equal grace. What mattered most was complete surrender and unwavering faith. “Kalyan karta,” Guruji would declare, and “Blessings always” was the promise bestowed upon devotees. He clarified that his “Blessings always” extended beyond this life, culminating in nirvana.

Guruji never delivered sermons or prescribed rituals; instead, his message resonated uniquely within each devotee. This connection was not only uplifting and energizing but profoundly transformative, elevating lives to a state of joy, fulfillment, and peace. Guruji exuded a divine fragrance reminiscent of roses, a scent still felt today as a testament to his enduring presence.

He attained mahasamadhi in Delhi on May 31, 2007. Guruji departed this world without appointing a successor, for in the realm of the "light divine," none exists. His teachings emphasized that devotees should connect with him directly, primarily through prayer and meditation. Guruji’s temple, affectionately known as Bade Mandir, is located at Bhatti Mines in South Delhi. Even in his physical absence, his blessings continue to work miracles, showering grace upon those who never had the opportunity to meet him.
